Last Thursday, I was honored to be amongst such talented, beautiful and successful mom bloggers at the first (and hopefully not the last) “Mommy Meet Up” event hosted by Essence magazine and Chic Busy Mom.

Upon entry, we were immediately greeted by a life size poster of the magazine’s latest issue and the iconic logo on their fourth floor offices, located in New York City.

We were then escorted into a meeting room that was filled with sandwiches, chips and most importantly refreshments aka liquid lunch.

From the smiling faces and positive atmosphere, I knew instantly that this was going to be a fun afternoon….and boy was I RIGHT!ess1

Topics included chatting about mommy guilt, celeb moms that inspires us (for me its Nicole Ritchie) and tips and advice on finding time with our significant. It was indeed an intimate, eye-opening experience that left us all wanting to know when the next Mommy Meet Up would be.

Visit #EssenceMoms on Twitter and on Instagram to get even more details and pics about this fab event.

And if the fab convo and meet and great wasn’t enough, Essence and Chic Busy Mom gifted us with an amazing goodie bag, which included the latest issue of Essence Mag (also as an added bonus my son’s godmother/cousin appears in the ad on page 63), lipstick and a “Mommy” bracelet (pictured below) created by  Baubles by Meg.

So thanks Essence magazine and Candace (ChicBusyMom) for a beautiful afternoon.

What events have you attended that makes your heart sing?  Do you wish there were more (if any) mommy meet up groups in your neck of the woods?

“FILTHY! “DIRTY!” “YUCK, THE CLEAN UP IS SO DIFFICULT!” Did you hear me from all the way over there??? Of course you did, ’cause that’s me fussing time and time again about the clean up about my son’s highchair (brand will remain nameless to protect the innocent).  I am all for him exploring his foods, but when you find peas in the cracks of your highchair and can still smell stained milk embedded in the cushion, even after a thorough cleanup, makes this mom one unhappy camper. But not until my new friends over at Snugli asked me to review their new stylish, chic and easy to clean highchair, I was thrilled and jumped at the chance.

Snugli has launched a new sleek and distinctive line of baby gear from high chairs, infant car seats and strollers. In collaboration with Jennifer DeLonge, a well-known furniture and interior designer, Snugli now has product-lines that are geared towards the modern family and their ever-changing lifestyle. Just a fun side note, Jennifer is married to Tom DeLonge, from the band Blink-182.

I had the opportunity to check out the entire line first hand when Snugli attended the Fashion Forward conference in September.  Super durable, chic, comfy and lightweight are just a few things that I couldn’t stop repeating after testing the products.  Its definitely a must-have item for your ever growing infant.

Last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of schmoozing with other women who believes in the motto “live for what you love” and for us that’s…blogging and motherhood.  I was amongst 200 women in attendance of the first ever Fashion Forward Conference, hosted by Momtrends, Lady and The Blog, and Mom Generations, held in New York City.

“The Fashion Forward Conference aims to to bring aspirational and attainable fashion and style to real moms – after all why should women lose their sense of style just because they became moms…”

Filled with awesome sponsors – iVillage, Stride Rite, Snugli, Bellamy Blue Photography, Ingrid & Isabel- celebrity guest appearances, styling tips, and panelist discussions, and a mom and kids fashion show, this conference was definitely a success and hopefully an annual event for us mommy bloggers.
