The popular car seat manufacturer,Britax, is recalling certain models of its Chaperon infant car seats because the chest clip could break as parents are trying to buckle in their child.

The car seat models affected:

  • Moonstone E9L69N9
  • Red Mill E9L69P2
  • Savannah E9L69P3
  • Cowmooflage E9L69P5

They were manufactured between April 2009 and May 2010.

If the chest clip breaks, the sharp edges could scratch the baby’s face, and small broken parts could create a choking hazard.

Britax said they’re getting ready to send consumers replacement chest clips and instructions on how to install them. Owners are being told to call Britax’s customer service at 888-427-4829. They’re also posting details athttp://www.ChaperoneSeatRecall.com.

Over-the-counter homeopathic product, Hyland’s Teething Tablets, have been recalled.

The FDA warns parents that they may pose a risk to children due to inconsistent amounts of belladonna.  The FDA has received reports of seizures, difficulty breathing, and muscle weakness in children using the tablets. There have also been reports of overdose; the containers do not have child safety caps.

Roughly two million Graco strollers—all distributed prior to January 2008—were recalled because they can place children at risk of strangulation and entrapment.

Consumers should immediately stop using the 2010 Graco Metrolite and Graco Quattro Tour  Strollers and contact Graco for a free repair kit. Munchkin, Inc. announced a voluntary recall of their bathtub toy called Bathtub Subs.  The intake valve on the bottom of the submarine toy can suck up loose skin, posing laceration hazard to children.  19 lacerations to boys’ genital area has been reported.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled toy away from children and contact Munchkin for instructions on how to return the product for a free replacement toy.

EVENFLO initiates voluntary safety recall of certain Maestro combination booster seats.

The AP reports that after a test by Consumer Reports they found that the seat can crack and fall in a simuated 30 mph frontal collision.  No injuries have been reported.
