Well, don’t fret, looking great for LESS with NO FUSS can be achieved, thanks to great over-the-counter hair care formulas.  Who would have thought that great hair color can be done in your own kitchen sink?

As an expert of at-home hair color, I recommend buying two boxes of color.  Since I have thick hair, one box sometimes isn’t enough.    Also, be sure to read the instructions before applying.  Not one brand will be the same as the next.  One last note, be sure to protect your skin.  Wear an old t-shirt or wrap a towel around your neck and on the floor, this will catch the color and protect your skin from any drips of color.

  1. Get a long-lasting, permanent color with Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color (shown in 93 Light Golden Blonde Honey Butter).
  2. If you have chemically treated hair try L’Oreal Paris Healthy Look Creme Gloss Color (shown in Light Red Brown/Spiced Praline 6G), its a demi-permanent color and washes out in 28 shampoos, if you are also looking for commitment-free color.
  3. For shiny & smooth hair with a hint of sheer color, try  John Frieda Glaze (shown in Amber to Maple). It’s also great for hiding grays between coloring.
  4. For great tones and highlights try Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Color Blend Foam (shown in 5RB, Medium Reddish Brown).
