With the start of the New Year, I thought I’ll add some sparkle to my beauty routine simply by adding some definition to my “ordinary” manicure. After perusing my nail technicians resume, I immediately feel in love with her glittery variations (you can see here, here, here, and here) as well as the matte look. It’s a fun way to add a bit of sparkle, and I love that there are endless color combinations to try. Here’s what you need if you are in the mood for DIY.
Simply polish your nails with your favorite nail color, here I we used O.P.I Nail Lacquer in Big Apple Red (with the exception of the finger that you want to use the sparkle on) and then apply the Top Coat for the matte look effect. Yep its just that simple.
Next, polish the other finger where you want to showcase the sparkle (here I used my ring finger). My nail tech used a sparkly base nail polish and then added some rhinestones to give it some extra sparkle. If the rhinestones are too much, you can omit them and leave the sparkle color instead.
