Pregnant? Yay, congratulations! But you may be feeling a little less than enthusiatic about your impending growing belly if you are experiencing morning sickness. Even the term “morning sickness” can leave us feeling a bit queasy, cause seriously, we all know that its not in the morning that we are feeling sick.

So, here are 10 things that have been shown to relieve the misery:

  1. Brew fresh ginger root in a cup of tea, pick up some ginger ale or take a 300 mg capsule.
  2. Eat a diet high in protein and complex carbohydrates.
  3. Sip chicken broth to help you get some calories in along with the  liquid.
  4. Stick with cold foods—hot foods have a stronger smell, which can trigger  queasiness.
  5. Stash a few Preggie Pops in your bag for on-the-go, all-natural relief.
  6. Eat leafy greens because they’re rich in vitamin K, which seems to  help.
  7. Eat brown rice
  8. Try acupuncture.
  9. Get light exercise.
  10. Use a mouth rinse after vomiting and after each meal to keep your mouth  fresh, reduce nausea and reduce the amount of tooth decay that can occur from  the interaction of stomach acid with enamel.

If you’ve ever been on a flight, you know how incredibly dull those pre-flight instructions can be. Buckle this, inflate that, blah blah blah. Thankfully, Air New Zealand realizes how repetitive and boring that can be and have created innovative new pre-flight videos to entertain as well as instruct passengers prior to takeoff. Previous iterations of these now viral videos include celebrities such as David Hasselhoff and Richard Simmons. The latest entry features Ed O’Neill (of Modern Family and Married with Children fame) as an animated passenger, along with a slew of celebrity cameos. Air New Zealand is so committed to making the experience fun that they’ve even centered a contest around the new video, where one observant viewer can win a flight around the world just by naming all of the celebrities that make a cameo. Check out the video below, then visit their site to enter!

Ladies last month I did a post on the new Lancome Le Curler and I had some people asking questions about the best way to curl.  Luckily Lancome delivered some exactly videos to help us all out. I am no expert with the curler so I am a curler newbie.  I have wasted money of the years on false eye lashes, eye lash extending mascara, makeup tricks, and in the end was never truly satisfied with the result.  What’s nice about the Le Curler is that it is truly designed for anyone from a newbie to someone that is a curling master. It provides an instant lift and curl, has a no slip grip for easy control when you show some newbie nerves, silicone pads protect your lashes from breaking, the curve design makes it a perfect fit for any eye shape.

For the first time curler you will want to check out this video.  This is where I started and it made be feel like a pro!

In researching some DIY for toddlers I came across some cool fort inspiration from around the web. Whether made of sheets, cardboard, wood, or sticks, forts are a place we can go to transport our minds to wherever we want to go. You can play, dream, relax, or create in a fort. Everything is better in a fort!

Not yet ready to part ways with your sheets or cushions? Then opt for a cardboard house or a castle that your kids can decorate themselves. Try Easy Play House ($33.78, Amazon.com).

Florals and bright colors are a huge trend this season, so if there are no plans of you heading to the tropics then there isn’t no excuse why the tropics can’t come to you, courtesy of Kohl’s that is.

Over the weekend I headed off to Kohl’s Department Store with my $100 gift certificate, $10 Kohl’s cash and 30% coupon, in search of the perfect tropical trend look. Admiring my favorite designers, from Jennifer Lopez to Vera Wang I knew that this was not going to be an easy task. However, I stopped in my tracks when I saw that the LC Lauren Conrad collection had the 3 F’s that I was looking for: Floral, Feminine and Flirty.

Looking for something that was ultra-wearable and versatile I immediately feel in love with LC Lauren Conrad Floral Empire Hi-Low Maxi Dress ($72.00 original, $50.40 sale price). What’s great about this trend is that it can be easily rocked from day to night, perfect for an afternoon tea party or dinner with the girls.

I also added a leather braided brown belt by Sonoma life + style ($26.00 original, $15.60 sale price) to accentuate the waist. And what outfit wouldn’t be complete without a great pair of shoes. So I choose these LC Lauren Conrad Platform High Heels ($59.99 original, $39.99 sale price), not only was I looking for a great pair of heels to show off my legs, but they were also super comfy while dancing the night away.

So, here’s my checkout price: TOTAL: $64.20 (includes 30% off discount + $10 Kohl’s cash) Wow!! What great savings??!!

Are you excited about bringing the tropics to your wardrobe?
