This past Wednesday, I had attended the LUCKY FABB (Fashion & Beauty Blogger Conference) held at the New York Times Center on 41st Street. Lucky editor-in-chief, Brandon Holley kicked off the conference with an intimate conversation with Macy’s Chairman, President and CEO, Terry Lundgren.  Lundgren filled us in on Macy’s collaboration with Nicole Richie on her new line, Impulse, scheduled to launch September 12. Impluse will have items that are both edgy and on-trend…exactly how Richie has branded herself.  Speaking of branding…an audience member asked the Chairman, what “top 3 things can get your brand viable” and his response was 1. Knowing your customer 2. What is different and unique about your brand 3. Consistent quality. A great takeaway for any business.

What I Wore:  Dress, H&M ($29.95), Jacket, H&M ($49.95), Jewelry, Stella & Dot

P&G Beauty, BCBG Generation, MyDROBE, Wrapp, AG Jeans, Caravelle by Bulova, C&C California, JustFAB, ThreadFlip were just a few pop up shops that were on hand for us to explore and enjoy.

The main focus of the conference was helping bloggers amplify their brand and inspire ideas that can help elevate our brand.  There were several panel discussions featuring brands and well-established bloggers, such as Leandra Medine from The Man Repeller, Leah Chernikoff of Fashionista and Annie Georgia Greenberg of Refinery29 on topics such as staying true to your voice, how brands work with blogs, ways to monetize your blog and building your brand.

And what blogger conference would be without a celebrity panelist? We were thrilled to be amongst Rachel Zoe, who talked about motherhood, balancing work/family, she also showed us a preview of her clothing line…and it was BANANAS!  Zoe was honest, open and obviously is very passionate about being a designer.

Zoe styling tip:  Cinch your pants by the thigh area to elongate your legs.

We also heard from author and designer, Lauren Conrad (best known from MTV’s hit reality show, Laguna Beach and The Hills), who was seriously too cute for words.  Conrad’s dress was from her Paper Crown line and pumps were from her Kohl’s collection.  Got to have now!!

Die hard Gossip Girl fans and of her collection was thrilled to meet Anna Sui who shared an intimate conversation with Simon Doonan, Brand Ambassador, Barney’s New York.

Of course, any conference would not be complete without the legendary Lucky swag bag (weighing in like a ton of bricks).  It was stocked full of products by Broadway Nails, JustFAB, Demeter Fragrance, Olay, just to name a few…Check out after the jump how you can win a few items from the LUCKY FABB swag bag.

1. Vaseline Coca Radiant Vitalizing Gel Body Oil, Pack of 3, $21.95: Replenishes skin and locks in moisture.  Best used after bathing.

2. Aveda Stress Fix,.24 oz, $25: It is a tiny vial of essential oils that smell so
good it is hard to pick out specifics, beyond lavender and maybe
a jasmine or a honeysuckle—cannot be argued with. It is completely and utterly and unstressfully relaxing.

3. Apivita Lip Care, $7: This sheer tinted balm made with organic beeswax and olive oil is thick enough to really moisturize, matte enough that your hair will not get stuck in it, tinted enough to make a difference, pomegranate scented and sweet-tasting.

4. Sally Hansen Smooth Perfect Color Care in Dune, $5.50: The perfect pale pink.

5. Large Mineral Water Spray, $16.95: If you keep your skin moist during extremely hot weather, it’ll prevent heat rash and other skin irritations. When it’s hot outside we tend to sweat underneath our skin, which can lead to breakouts. I always keep a mini bottle of this with me.

6. Dermalogica After Sun Repair, $32.: Make sure you use extra moisturizer after a day at the beach—it won’t undo sun damage, but it’ll always makes things better (not worse).

7. Sally Hershberger Wave Spray, Wavy Hair, $13.59: Beachy waves—get them with a spritz of this.

8. Jergen’s Natural Glow, SPF 20, $8.49: Forget about those streaky self-tanners. This gradual tanning lotion really works and now it comes in SPF 20.

9. Victoria’s Secret Love Is Heavenly Eau De Parfum, $42: Switch up your fragrance to something fresh and, well, summery.

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I have used these products a dozen times and can’t help but spread the word on these awesome finds. All opinions expressed herein are my own.

We love seeing a woman in charge, especially when that women has chic fashionable style, both in and out of the workplace.

37 year old, Marissa Mayer, has been appointed the new CEO of Yahoo and we just can’t wait see what fashion trends she has in store for us techie-fashion lovers.  We first saw her impeccable taste in 2009, when her wedding was the subject of a short feature in Vogue, which highlighted the bride’s wedding dress, which was designed by Naeem Khan and embroidered with snowflakes.

Now, with her pregnancy announcement, we are super excited to see the young CEO’s killer maternity style.

Stay tuned!

Ladies last month I did a post on the new Lancome Le Curler and I had some people asking questions about the best way to curl.  Luckily Lancome delivered some exactly videos to help us all out. I am no expert with the curler so I am a curler newbie.  I have wasted money of the years on false eye lashes, eye lash extending mascara, makeup tricks, and in the end was never truly satisfied with the result.  What’s nice about the Le Curler is that it is truly designed for anyone from a newbie to someone that is a curling master. It provides an instant lift and curl, has a no slip grip for easy control when you show some newbie nerves, silicone pads protect your lashes from breaking, the curve design makes it a perfect fit for any eye shape.

For the first time curler you will want to check out this video.  This is where I started and it made be feel like a pro!

Congrats on your pregnancy!  So, you signed up for prenatal yoga, dragged your partner to child birthing classes and asked several of your mommy friends for breastfeeding tips, but wait there’s one more aspect that you may have forgotten…..looking glam during your delivery!  Just take it from new POSH mommy, Beyonce, who revealed in People Magazine her predelivery primping for Baby Blue Ivy.

I did have a fresh eyebrow wax . . . I got my nails done, I got my feet done, had my hair done, and I had my little lip gloss . . . I didn’t feel that I looked beautiful during birth, but who does? After being pumped with all those fluids and gaining so much weight . . . I barely recognized myself.

Preparing for the arrival of your newborn can leave you feeling a bit anxious, so why not get a little glammed right before the late night feedings begin?  Before Lil B’s birth, I got my hair colored (which was deemed safe in the third trimester) and blown out, visited the nail salon, shaved my legs and got a bikini wax.  Not only did it feel good to have some “me” time before motherhood, but it wasn’t such a big deal when I was being photographed without makeup (which I knew would be shared with co-workers, friends and family).

Here’s a few more tips to do before giving birth…. View Post
